Tigger is SUCH a little sister ...

... she copies everything Pingu does.
Ping has always done this little raised-paw thing. A bit like a pointer but more curled. It's adorable, we considered it "Ping's Thing", rather like Toogie's little back foot stampy-dance.
Tigger does it too.
And Ping has always, every Winter, warmed herself by sitting right up alongside a heater vent. Last Winter Tigger did not. This Winter?

A tiny, tiny, Siamese tiger ...

... has come to live in the Brown Mouse House.
So far the Ping factor is ... well hostile really. Lots and lots of hissing.
On the upside, no spitting or growling or biting. Ping hisses when she sees the kitten and runs away. When she smells the kitten on me she hisses and withdraws her cuddlesome love. She appears to have entered a state of permanent sulk. The kitten, on the other hand, won't leave the end room loo. The room where we keep the litter tray and all sorts of shit, ladders, leaf blowers and dust, it's where we keep our rare earth dust collection. We've been taking it in turns to sit on the loo (seat down) to cuddle the kitten, play with the kitten and submit to ferocious kneading from the kitten. She's adorable and so very, very tiny with ears that tremble like butterfly wings. We think we'll call her Tigger.

We bought a new travel cage ....

... to bring the little sister home in next weekend. It's been sitting in the back room, not doing much to earn it's keep, so we opened the door. It's Ping's new play hidey spot. I guess she doesn't associate this one with going to the vet to have indignities visited upon her furry wee person.

There won't be much of this going on ....

.... when the little sister arrives*. She's not going to know what hit her!

This keeps me going ...

... the wonderful woman who we are getting Ping's little sister from keeps us updated with photos. This is from Sunday. I'm guessing weaning must be soon cos no one at the Brown-Mouse is going to be able to help out in this regard!

Even a kitten update ...

... from the breeder has failed to boost the mood. All I can think about now is WHEN WILL SHE BE MINE?? (Ours, yes, I know, ours).
Turns out April 10!

Kittens ,..

... so tiny, I'd forgotten how tiny newbie kittens are, and how much fun.So, we met Ping's little sister. She's adorable and has just the right amount of vim that I think she'll survive Ms Pingu's strong personality.
I said all the right things, Mr Brown did not roll his eyes, and we passed as suitable to buy a kitten.
We met mum, a very calm lady, and dad, very friendly with the most beautiful eyes. We also met almost a dozen aunties, uncles, cousins and goodness knows what else. All beautiful, silky and friendly. This bodes well for the little one's personality. We don't really need a shy and retiring type. Small was, so I guess we'd deal, but still, vivacious is the way to go.
Now, I love cats but 2 is enough for me, and Mr Brown who's first words upon getting into the Ute to drive home were, "jeebers, those cats, all those cats! We're only getting 1, right? ".
