Seriously planet Earth ...

... I know we humans have dicked you around and shat in our own nest and all, but how about lightening up a little, eh?
Those floods up in Queensland/Northern NSW are actually a bit too close to family for comfort (though all are safe and dry-ish at the moment). And now there's bloody bushfires threatening Perth!
Enough already, I've got more than sufficient to worry about right now (and we all know it's all about me).

We've been reading about your floods in the newspapers - it seems flooding is annual there but this seems more like the apocalypse! The extent of the flooding is amazing! Hope it stops raining soon.

Zoomie, the think of it is, it's not even the wet season yet! People have become used to drought conditions over the past ... 10ish years, so this is a bit of a shock!
The last time floods in the Brisbane area were anything like this bad was 1974 - looks like this is worse.
Drought or Flood, never just nice even weather eh?

That's what I wish we could do, even it all out a bit.
Sun and dry breezes to the flood ravaged; gentle rains to the drought stricken...

The houses we've seen on the TV news all appear to be built on stilts, so one expects that annual flooding is a feature of life there - but this is unbelievable, freakish. I hope your family or friends are not affected.

Do I still want to move to Australia?

Lee, pity life just doesn't work that way eh?
Zoomie, old houses were build on stilts, they are called Queenslanders and are very much sought after, the problem is the modern, brick on cement slab homes. This is an interesting take - http://www.smh.com.au/business/those-who-build-on-flood-plains-20110113-19ojd.html

Cookie, sure you do, you just don't want to live up North, or in the Far West. Sydney is nice although quite humid :D

Humidity: Good for my curls!

Cookie, the curly factor is the only reason we still live in Sydney you know :)

I hope you and yours continue to be safe. I've been following CAW on FB and it looks like the waters are finally receding, thank goodness. What an ordeal.

This crazy weather is consistent with climate change theories. I hope we are able to reverse the damage soon, or it's only going to get worse.
