... of those spam comments? The ones that make NO SENSE and just blather crap.
They are so clearly spam, they don't even pretend not to be, so what is it the spammers hope to achieve?

I'd love to know. They don't make friends for whatever they are pushing and they are usually deleted immediately by the blog owner. It's a weird mentality that seeks to annoy briefly and pointlessly.
I think it gives them a kind of (sick) humor. It's the same good, possibly slightly giddy feeling one gets from replying sensibly and accordingly to a post, but these people find pleasure in annoying people, then moving onto the next, like the flu.
I've been struck by a recent flurry of spammers who actually read the post and comment pretty appropriately, but then promote their product. Quite disconcerting.
