Sunday Soup ...

... Cream of Celery Soup with Bacon. Yummy.
Why? Because I needed a couple of stalks of celery for a Waldorf Salad, bought a whole bunch because it was cheap as chips (yet another reason NOT to bother growing it again) and had leftovers! Thrifty McHousewifey me can't stand to waste, so cream of celery soup it is. Also, BACON!
Oh, and *brags* home grown potatoes & onions in the soup!!

You are my inspiration. (Is that a song?)
We just discovered four "free" potato plants, probably the babies of maybe just one tater we failed to dig up. That is so cool.
The onions and "leeks" (and I suspect we were sold chives, not leeks) are marching into robustness.
Farming. Aren't we charming?
I don't know if I've asked you: Do you cure your own bacon? We have a couple of pork bellies in the freezer right now, ready for the treatment.

Cookie, bring on the dark ages eh? We won't starve.
The spuds, fingerlings, yellow flesh, were delish, I don't care what we've got planned for dinner, spuds are going on the menu.
As for the bacon, I'm afraid not but one day .... then I could eat loads more eh? Being home-made and much healthier.
