The Joy of Pus Balls ...

... So E asked, "what are pus balls?" Ooooh bebe are you ready for this?
Traditionally in the Brown-Mouse House, pus balls are profiteroles - but recently I found something much better, much more deserving of the pus ball moniker, than those dandified, nancy boy, cheese-eating-surrender-monkey Frenchie pus balls, Puffies. These boys are huge, choc-full of delicious vanilla custard and all crunchy and crumbly on the outside. They are usually only a Friday night treat but, because my sister left us in charge of a 6-year-old last night (I know, can you believe it? Madness), special pus ball conditions had been created.Clearly she loved them, as did Pingu, though Ping only likes the middle bit.
6-year-olds eat early - so, what do you do when you've eaten dinner and dessert by 7:15pm? Why, you play Polly Pockets! Mr Brown proved a champion Polly Pocketer (those are his manly hairy wrists). This is Layla, I dressed her, which is a lot harder than you would think, the clothes are all RUBBER. You'll be glad to hear small person was returned to her mother completely undamaged, we didn't break a thing!
And tonight, well it's Wednesday Night Pizza - red, yellow & green roasted capsicum (that's sweet or bell peppers for the yanks) with chorizo & basil. I was on hand to supervise the cheesing tonight, so Mr Brown missed the opportunity to burden our hearts overly much.

Ping insists on a sniff of every single thing that's being prepared in the kitchen - she gets to taste quite a bit too - she's quite fond of hummus among other things.
The wine, may be disapproved by some but I find it helps keep the conversation flowing, no?

Who would ever disapprove the wine? Certainly the cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys!

Thanks for the 'splanation of pus balls, I had to know. Of course Ping has to have a sniff of everything. I bet Small is a mellow sweet kitty who just looks at you with droopy eyes.

Maliboo is my Pingu cat. She eats breakfast with me in the morning, she likes yogurt.
