... I think we may finally have an answer.
I think the maple out the front is an Acer Palmatum 'Dissectum Atropurpureum Ornatum' because it's sort of going a bit orangy, rather than crimson.

Granted, it's actually more yellow, but there are hints of orange in there, really. See.

Such feathery leaves. I'm kind of a plant taxonomy nerd like that, too.
Hey, you know the green-legged spider, how you wanted tights like that? With STRIPES! Yes?
Not a dissected form of Japanese maple? Lovely by any name, but they seem small leaves for palmatum.
Cookie, of COURSE with stripes :)
Zoomie, I've honestly no idea, if you've a better idea let me know, the tag it came with just said 'acer' *grumble*
Prof Wiki is suggesting "A red A. palmatum Dissectum Group"!
Acer palmatum 'Orangeola' - Japanese Maple
With finely dissected foliage and a weeping growth habit, 'Orangeola' is a fine new introduction with orangish spring leaves that eventually turn green. In fall the leaves create a fiery display of bright reddish orange. Our high-grafted plants mature slowly to about 6 feet.
2-3 ft. spread $ 49.95
Cookie, almost but not quite, my acer is yellow/orange in the autumn and red in the Spring, going green into Summer :) Quirky little bugger.
That's because the toilets swirl backwards where you live. :)
