... I'm sure it's well known that, despite my love of shoes, I'm pretty much a barefoot girl once I've walked in the front door.
I love naked foot freedom. I'm a foot nudist!
This love of perambulating sans shoes does lead to the odd "ouch" moment, inside and out.
Inside, Tigger is usually to blame.
Outside, it can be many things. A small stone, a stick, a bee. And now I've a new sharp thing to keep an eye peeled for.
Camellia seeds. Sprung, sharp pointed, from Camellia nuts. Leaving behind a little wooden flower. They are small, dark, hard to see and sharp. Isn't Nature grand?

Can you please collect me some? and any other wonderful pods you chance upon?
The empty pods? Sure.
I am a devotée of flip flops, myself. Most of the barefoot freedom without most of the ouch. My friends laugh at me - I wear them even in the winter.
We have camellias here, too, but I've never seen a pod. Just gaudy blooms.
(Your sister is a Pod People!)
Zoomie, I don't like thongs (flipflops) because I clench my toes to hold them on, and my feet end up hurting. Birkenstocks are as close as I can get :(
Cookie, I think she's going to do something gnome-culty with them ;)
The seeds come from the most gaudy of our camellias, the hot pink one!
You and My Beloved, both. He's a Birkenstock lover, too.
AHA! I have finally figured out what those little wooden flowers are. Thank you. And sorry about your foot! But thanks.
