Last night ...

... when Mr Brown and I went to bed it was 32 degrees C inside the Brown Mouse House.
We slept all night, shut up in our bedroom with the windows shut, the blind drawn and the door shut, with the Pinguino on, all night. Not particularly restful but cool.
Portable air conditioners are quite loud. For the last week our choice has been no sleep due to HOT or no sleep due to NOISE. No sleep due to NOISE being preferable as it turns out.
Tonight, as I drift down the hall to bed the temperature gauge reads 24, and it's dropping.
Tonight will be sleep, quiet, cool, sleep.

Oh my god - how hot! I think I would be really really uncomfortable, it's the small ape thing with all the hair. I think that's why I prefer skiing to a beach holiday, all that suntan lotion makes me feel like a greased hog would feel... I imagine ;o)

You have froglets too! Neat and cool, I miss the ones we used to have, they migrated across the lawn for a few years, but since the rest of the buildings have been finished on the estate, nothing, froglost.

I know I have been obsessed with our snowstorms, but I will take it all compared to heat and humidity!
(Thwap, thwap, thwap...)

We've had a couple of really hot nights like that here too. I couldn't afford a portable aircon, but it's on my list for next year. I do have a really powerful fan though, but it's also very noisy. Least when it's on I can put a blanket on myself...

Urgh. Tell me about it. Being lowly renters, all we have to cool us are teh portable aircons and I swear you lose half the benefit of them by having to open up a window to let the hot air out through the outlet hose, which seeing as all our windows are odd means we get some of that stinking 40 degree heat back in too. But as you say, noise beats heat.

"Froglost" is a sad, angsty word. Good title for a book.

32C doesn't sound so bad, unless it's humid heat, and then it's hell. Thank goodness for relief on its way.

Cookiecrumb - deal, we'll write half each and split the royalties! ;o)

Lee, I too, would prefer your snowstorms. The cats are more cuddly in the cold.
Roo, of course, now I can't find the taddies!
Stomper, yep, noise beats heat, for sure :)
E - it's at least 80% humidity, often higher (and I don't like anything much over 25!)
