... according to this site anyway, "There are four principal tourist activities for visitors to Malcesine: wander the town's lanes; catch the boat to Riva, Limone or other lake resorts; take the cable-car up to the heights of Monte Baldo; eat ice creams".
So, guess what I'll be doing for about a week while Mr Brown messes about in a boat?
I may also wander the lanes a bit, with Rupert for company, but as for the rest of the time ...

Good choice! I have also heard that Affi, a small town near Riva, is wunderbar (or whatever the Italian word for that is). I wanna come, too!
There is nothing- absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply eating ice creams in July.
Zoomie, choice has absolutely nothing to do with it. Mr Brown's sailing race is there, I'm a camp follower :) That's not to say I'm not terribly happy with fate!
Cookie, it sounds odd, to me, what with July being winter and all, but I'm happy to bend like grass in the wind!
You're off to Italy? How did I miss this? Have an awesome time! And I'm sure there will be plenty of other things to do. But if there are not, well, then I suppose ice cream it is.
I am jealous!!!!!! But you're definitely going to need to find time to explore the lanes and walk off all the ice-cream! At least, I would need it...

E, O yes I'm sure I won't be bored :)
Sue, you're right there, I need it without the icecream!
I meant the choice of ice cream over sailing. :-)
Zoomie, O, that, well yes, much rather eat icecream than puke over the side of a boat!
Did someone mention camp follower? Ok, somebody had to make that joke!
Anyhoo, ice creams, if you don't eat one at least once a day in Italy it's a criminal offence.....Garda, nice.
Yes Roo, someone had to ;)
