... what it's like in my 'library' when I retire there, with the air conditioner, to get out of the heat.
Well, a bit like what it's like. The Brown-Mouse Library is a bit tidier, I rarely wear shorts, we've only got two cats, and I don't have a beard. Also, I'm a girl.
Other than that, it's a spot on perfect illustration of a hot Mouse, trying to stay cool, thwarted by cats who love to snuggle, even though you are boiling to death.Actually it's the wonderful Edward Gorey and a few of his beloved mogs.

want another kitten for your birthday?
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Wait a sec... You're a girl?!?
That's a delightful article - written with just the right touch for Gorey. I have a couple of his books and love them. Also, have you read the Lemony Snicket books? Same "genre," different day. Ghoulishly delightful.
Aw, that's Edward Gorey? He radiates dark, pen-pointy talent, even in his sleep.
Nice legs, too.
UK, oui :)
Zoomie, I read the first one but didn't really get into it, I've a friend though, who's read them all.
Cookie, doesn't he? I love Mr Gorey and am terribly sad he'll never draw another little book.
He is snuggling with Small now. (Which makes you more jealous, that He is with Small, or that you aren't with He?) Hee.
You perfectly illustrated your point - in words and pictures!
;o)
Cookie, that's cool, he can keep her company.
Lee, I did think so ;)
The snuggling cats. Thankfully, mine won't snuggle when it's hot. So they don't sleep with me for about 6 months out of the year.
Koda: LOL.
