Today I went slightly ape shit ...

... horrid day at work (fingers crossed only a week to go) not at all assisted by my, franky hysterical, worrying about something that might happen.
Might happen, might not, probably won't, but still might. And, if it does happen, omyomyomy whatamIgoingtodo????? The sort of worrying that has one googling pointlessly, confirming only your worst fears. And it doesn't help that Mr Brown tends to try to put a positive spin on these things, because the lunatic is an optimist!! I know, how on earth did worse-case-secnario pesamist moi get hitched to him?? Polar opposites, I've said it before.
And so, I was tense to Mr Brown on the phone on the way home and wept and wrung my hands when I got home and .... well as I said. Pointless waste of time worrying.
So, I went outside and took some macro shots of my favourite neighbourhood bees who, at this time of night, obligingly sit still(ish) for the camera.

So sorry about all that awful worrying!
Hope things improve soon.
Good that you found a way to distract yourself.
I'm sure the photos are wonderful - - I just can't look at them!
;o)

P.S. Word verification = as hairy!

OMG, they are fantastic! I hope you have them enlarged and mounted. The House of Bees and Pineapples. And cats and possums... It makes sense.

Oh you know how I love bees.. these are incredible, what type/make/name?

Love the un-bee like look they have - are they big pincers at the front?

As for the worrying.... you must have a decent sticky that a small glass of may calm ones nerves perhaps?

Oh, and one week to go for what? Have I missed something, or have you secretly been given the date for the apocalypse, and can't tell?

Lee, they are lovely, and very pretty and it's a huge shame you just can't look:)
Cookie, I just may - am now wondering if I should engage a stained glass person to make me a window of them, buzzing around a welcoming pineapple!
Roo, they are the Common Blue Banded Bee, native Aussie bees, buzz pollenators, and they don't hive like European bees. They sleeep on sticks and grasses using their big pincers in the summer and dig wee holes in brick mortor of old houses (like ours) in winter. I LOVE them
As for the worrying, not quite that bad, but, you know, worrying!

Yay bees! Sorry you were so worried. Good thing Mr. Brown is an optimist. You balance each other out.

E, balance each other out, yeah, that's one way to look at it ;)

Amazing to see that they don't even balance with their legs, just grab on with their pincers!

As to the worry, we have a saying here, "Worrying is like rocking in a rocking chair; it gives you something to do but it doesn't get you very far." Pour a glass of wine and try not to worry quite so much.

And, do these bees have stingers?

Ms Brown Mouse said...

Zoomie, I know, I'm working on the worry thing.
The bees do have stings, but don't use them much, they aren't very aggressive. The ones in our garden are remarkably tolerant of my following them about with Rupert and hovering, almost nose to nose. The worst I get is they wave their legs at me in tiny 'ssorf gestures!
