First meal at home ...

... was smashed broad beans, picked by my very own hand from my very own bean patch, over pasta, fresh shallot & parsley pasta. I added a splash or two of olive oil, squeezed in a tiny lemon, some salt (pink) and pepper and garlic.
Of course garlic. Because this smash was going to be dumped, only just cooked over the pasta, I'd lightly boiled the garlic cloves at the end of the bean boil, just to take the edge off. The result, garlic cream.
And never fear, heaping clouds of grated Parmesan was dumped on top.
Eating out every night is all well and good, but it is good to be home.

Cooking in one's own kitchen brings a special sort of satisfaction and comfort.
Welcome back to it.

That sounds really good - and a delight after so much meat-and-potatoes eating. Must remember that one.

Zoomie, yes, the fine dining was lovely but simple stuff is of heart and home.
