I actually do have a tortoise ...

... he lives in the garden, he's just not a particularly satisfactory tortoise. Goes by the name of Kenneth.

Is he real? Or is he a lifelike replica and I should feel silly? Does he live there all the time or does he just visit?

Lee, no, Kenneth isn't real. But don't feel silly - When I first bought Kenneth I hid him in the garden and when Mr Brown got home after dark I introduced them, quietly, via a window and a torch (flashlight). Kenneth's eyes twinkled. Mr Brown's first words were "O shit mouse, what the fuck are we going to feed that? Where did you get it?"
He was a little cross you see, us having had the no more pets discussion just days before :)

Poor Kenneth, his paint job needs a bit of a touch up and one of his legs broke off a few years ago.

If Mr. Brown will just move Kenneth around from time to time so that you come upon him by surprise in different places in the garden, he will seem just like a real tortoise, only he doesn't have to be fed.

Get a real one, see if anyone notices? and Kenneth?????? where did that come from? ;o)

Zoomie, Kenneth cannot be moved for fear of his losing another leg.
Roo - no such thing exists in Australia, legally, and I don't know where to start, illegally!
As for the name, his father was Kenneth the Amazing Flying Tortoise!
