*Yes of course I'm using the clippings to make rose sugar, Mrs Thrifty-McHousewife, that's me!

I've been out trimming ...
... the rose geranium*. My hands smell like roses AND I have a feeling of accomplishment.

Okay, I'll bite, what's rose sugar and what do you use it for?
Rose geranium rose sugar? Stunning. Never heard of it.
Zoomie: Egad, you put it in things you want to taste sweet and rosy. Tea? Mm.
Zoomie, layer the rose-scented petals with white sugar, it takes on the smell. You can use rose petals too, if it's a strong smelling rose.
I use it for icing (frosting), whipped cream, custards (& therefore, icecream), sweet soufflé and apple pie mmmmm.
Cookie, I've never put it in tea, though come to think of it, one of may favourite teas is white tea with peppermint & rose, so perhaps I should.
Wow, that is advanced domestic goddess stuff!
E - just greedy really ;)
You see, I should keep up, as now everyone has asked what I was going to ask.. Sounds divine. I use a lot of Vanilla sugar (same principal, shove some vanilla pods and caster sugar together, and it's far cheaper than buying ready packaged stuff)
Roo, try mixing rose & vanilla - mmmmmm m
I'm just impressed as all get out that you have a neato title: Mrs Thrifty-McHousewife!!!
;o)
- Lee
Lee - glad you like it, please feel free to use it yourself!
That sounds really delicious! I need to find a rose geranium as I've no roses in my funky little garden.
