… on the train in to work I saw the big white cat at the Wentworth Park stop.
He was up on the bench out of the rain, all bunched up like a meat loaf, eyes squeezed shut. I wish I had my camera.

Oh, I know I've already squandered this comment on somebody else's blog, but here goes (again).
Guy ranting on sports-radio call-in talk show: "If god didn't want us to eat cats, then why'd he make them outta meat?"
you know cookie, there's a sign at our favourite butcher shop that says, "if god didn't want us to eat animals, then he wouldn't have made them out of meat".
We have a meat eating rule at the Brown-Mouse house, we don't eat carnivours, only herbivours - so our furry girls are safe from the oven!
PS, it's not squandering it's recycling ;)
Good rule. I have a similar rule.
Reminds me of the hilarious song by Swan and Flanders about the reluctant cannibal whose disgusted father proclaims, "If the JuJu hadn't wanted us to eat people, he wouldn't have made them of meat!" Does anyone else remember Swan and Flanders?
E - my rule used to be never eat anything you'd cuddle but then I tasted wee lambies and bebe piggies and, well ....
Zoomie, Swan & Flanders? No, but I'll be looking them up, that song sounds as good as something from the fabulous Mr Tom Lehrer,
