... Amber Walnuts, which are both beautiful and good. I've had to prise them apart with my pig stabber, they have glued my teeth together and I've got that funny furry feeling in my mouth, from all the tannins. Beauty can be both troublesome and dangerous it would seem.

They sound yummy, but I'll never be able to eat them as I am allergic - call the rescue squad allergic - to most nuts. Even to peanuts which are a legume. I can enjoy pignoli/pine nuts and do!
But I can so appreciate that heavenly sweet-salty taste sensation!

Lee, how terrible for you, my sympathies but, as you say, at least you have pigoli! You know, you could consider amber pinenuts, it wouldn't be too hard ...
Excellent suggestion! Soy nuts, no matter how exotically flavored, are still soy nuts!
