... nothing will ever replace books, not permanently, because books smell good, feel good and don't (for the most part) strain your eyes.

Can't beat that new book smell and the feel of virgin pages, or the well worn pages of classic.
I will never switch to e-books, it's just not the same. The smell, for one, is not something I'm willing to give up.
UK - there's something rather comforting rereading a well-worn favourite? The pages soften and the book falls open at your favourite passages.
E - I'm with you - I like light to fall ON a book, not FROM it.
