i think i read somethere that most of the tears from chopping onions are actually caused by a subconscious need to touch onion, then touch eyes and/or nose.
someone somewhere did some research on it, and filmed people chopping onions, then both subjectively and objectively measured the tears.
the film showed nearly everyone who chopped onions actually scratching their eyes/nose.
this raises two important questions...
are we that stupid that we subconsciously do that to ourselves? and what lame idiot signed off on THAT research grant?
I cannot believe I'm daft enough to poke myself in the eye with onion juice, but I'll be asking Mr Brown to keep a close eye on me next time I'm on onion duty. Did you know that you can rid your hands of onion smell by rubbing them all over your stainless steel sink? It works every time.
Sink? That would be the big metal thing in the room with the fridge, and multi-hand warmer. I never have figured out why you'd need four round hand warmers sitting flat on your bench-top, but ther must have been awfully popular once because every home i've ever been in seems to have them. Very strange.

It's not a 4 hand warmer, it's a 2 hand 2 feet or 4 paw warmer. I think it used to be colder, years ago.
