Just finished reading ...

... Hugh Fearlessly Eats It All by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall of River Cottage fame. A most excellent compilation of his food writing over the past 20 years or so. He's a terribly funny, highly entertaining writer, who appealed to many of my, not terribly secret, snobberies - vegetarians who eat fish being one, the vileness of industrial-pap-fast-food, another. I spent a good part of the weekend reading bits of it out loud to Mr Brown, who's interest is so peaked I think he may even read it himself (highly unusual, Mr Brown likes to eat but he's not a big fan of reading about food, cooking etc).
Most highly recommended.

Vileness? Industrial-pap-fast-food?
We must be eating different burgers.

We like the home-made kind at the Brown-Mouse house, so much better-er than anything from one of "those" places.
We also morn the passing of Marvin's Grill - now there was a bloke who could whomp up a burger!

One of the top 3 meals I have ever had was one of those IPFF burgers, for breakfast at Frankfurt Airport, but then I had just survived 10 days in the back waters of India where I was sustained by a giant bag of Famous Amos Choc Chip Cookies I picked up on the way.

Food is relative.
