And I brought them inside and put them here.

And some time on, late at night I heard this "swispffftttp". Turns out that is the sound of rose petals falling.

One even fell into the hurricane lamp, which made me glad I hadn't lit any candles that night, I'm sure the smell of rose petals burning isn't at all nice.
