The 1970s

& the 1960s were the best times to grow up - according to an article in yesterday's SMH. Hmmm, let me think. Yep they were.
I look at kiddies today and wonder how they'll develop any imagination & self reliance if they are constantly entertained and organised and supervised.
There doesn't seem to be any free time, time to daydream & do nothing.
I've noticed that the same goes for lots of young adults too, they are always "doing" something. Even on the train they don't just sit & stare out the window, they're listening to music.
I treasure the nothing time on the train, just looking & thinking.
But then I loved that nothing time as a kid too, lolling about, daydreaming.
Tis a shame so many people don't seem to enjoy doing nothing today.

How I agree with you! But I have tried to raise my own 3 kids without overstimulating them, to let be bored so that they make something out of their own initiative. I still love doing nothing but I do it too seldom...

The time to do nothing, it's a luxury alright.
