I know it's a bit wanky ...

To have one, given how much they cost, but I think it works out as a penny-wise choice. I bought my Mont Blanc pen in August 2004 and I use it 5 days a week as my writing-instrument-of-choice at work. And I do A LOT of writing (with the pen as well as by keyboard). I changed the the ink cartridge for the first time last week, that's about 18 months of pretty much constant use - I won't work out the cost per day but I don't think it's much.

And it is so much nicer to write with than the Government-issue crapular pens they give you at my place of work, WAY nicer.
