Mr Brown had topped up the pond this morning but it's so very hot I thought I'd check the water level.
There was wriggling. My first thought was 'bloody mosquito larvae" but no, it was tadpoles. Dozens and dozens of tiny tadpoles.
The smile, of course, immediately melted and slid of my face, but I did smile.

Wow, tadpoles already! That's amazing! I wonder how long it will take for froglets to emerge. Isn't Ma Nature marvelous?
Oh my it is going to get very crowded in there when they grow legs!

As a child I would collect tadpoles from the little ponds in the srubland near our house. I loved them. I still find the whole thing fascinating
