Been in a bit of a funk lately ...

... nothing real, just the usual summer ennui. But today I saw a couple of things that pepped me right up.A roosting of 4 of my favourite native bees, the Blue Banded Boys.A purple and white flounce of snail vine flower.I'm excessively happy, which just goes to show, simple things are really quite wonderful.

And you took marvelous photos of both, too. Thanks for sharing and hooray for mood-enhancers, whatever they may be. :-)

Oh! Oh! Oh!
So that's why it's called snail vine. Wonderful.
Cheers.

Congrats to you and the bees on their taking up residence in the loveliest and safest of gardens!

Zoomie, ta, and it is as always, a pleasure.
Roo, super brilliant is how brilliant it is - Huzzah!
Cookie, yep, it's obvious once you see one isn't it? Cute wee purple & white snails.
Lee, mostly safe garden, the spider webs are a little prolific, I may have to conduct a cull :(

The upside of the summer blues is the Blue Banded Boys. Yay.

Those bees look genetically engineered, they're so cool. Dayglo colors. So lovely. And what a gorgeous flower on that vine. No wonder you were cheered up. Thanks for the awesome pics, I particularly loved the bunch of bees on the plant stalk.
