Our Maple Tree has sprung into leaf ...
.... I LOVE the fresh pale green of the new leaves.
The feel soft too, a little like lettuce. Not iceberg, the firmish-but-floppy, self-seeding stuff that keeps cropping up in the oddest bits of the garden.
Did you know maples have flowers?
They do, tiny red-tinted flower with the daintiest little stamens.
That reddish pink, the colour of a just-cooked crustacean? It covers the bebe leaves just before they burst out.
That, and pistachios, are proof enough for me that pink & green are perfect for each other.
The feel soft too, a little like lettuce. Not iceberg, the firmish-but-floppy, self-seeding stuff that keeps cropping up in the oddest bits of the garden.

I hear you've got bebe tomato plants in the ground already!
Bring it on.
I have, wee they are, but growing stronger everyday!!! All reds this year, as I forgot to do the seed thing weeks ago :(
I've never done the seed thing.
Cookie, I have, for a couple of years, heritage seeds. I'd send you some only you just KNOW they'd get pinged by US Customs :(
