It's Anzac Day ...
... I'm sick as a dog and unable to mark the event appropriately. So, unless Mr Brown comes home in a baking mood, we will be biscuitless this year.

I'll make some for you! I'll just go and grab my "Edmonds" book.(although it is from NZ)
That's a point is there anything like it in Oz? Typically a recipe book from a flour producer that is just handed down through families - like the Bero book here in the UK?
Roo, dunno, must look when i feel a bit less like death.
Hope you feel better soon. When you do feel better, will you speak to us about Anzac day and its traditions, please?
Oh poor you!
So sorry to read you are under the weather.
Hope you feel much better soon...

Zoomie, ANZAC day is the anniversary of Australia and New Zealand's first action in WWI, the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. If you haven't already seen it try to watch a video or DVD of Gallipoli, staring Mel Gibson when he was a beautiful young man.
Traditions - The Dawn Service with the Last Post played (makes one weepy) and the march, in which fewer and fewer old soldiers march each year.
Other traditions are ANZAC biscuits (yummy) and it's officially the first day all good little Australians can turn their heaters on, to do so before marks one a wimp! (I've been a wimp in the past, believe me but so far the heater switch is still 'OFF').
Lee, ta, I'm much better than yesterday, just snotty, which makes my nose sore :(
I'll post you some tomorrow - express. We haven't turned our heater on (i wonder if we will at all this year, I am wearing slippers tho - does that count?
S - Oooo that would be lovely! Heater still off in the Brown Mouse House, I'm wearing long pj pants and socks and the cats are snuggling up a storm so it can't be far off!
