Step out into the Brown-Mouse House back yard ...

... and you immediately begin to think of things like passionfruit souffle, passion fruit shortcake, passionfruit squeezed all over vanilla ice cream and just plain old sucking the guts out of a passionfruit or two while you stand in the back yard. The side fence is covered in those beautiful promises of passionfruits to come. And at the very end, a single vine hangs down being all art deco at me. And no, of course I could not resist peeking close. Lucky for me Rupert is such a sticky beak too eh?

One of my neighbors had this vine and last year it produced a whole lot of light green fruits - no one ate them. I don't think the owners knew what to do with them. I'll check recipes this year if the vine produces again, although it is looking very sickly this year.

Way to go, Rupert! Your garden is full of wonders.

Zoomie, some varieties don't produce fruit that's good to eat but try angling the fruit into the sun next season, remove some leaves, they may ripen. Fingers crossed.
E, Rupert makes snooping fun!

I think I know where to plant mine. Lots of sun.

So beautiful, Mouse.

Cookie, yep you need lots of sun or your fruits won't ripen and will wither on the vine!
