It's as if some small furry beastie has curled up, rump up, head tucked under, for a mid-afternoon snooze at the top of our tree fern.But, alas, not, it's just the promise of new fronds.

We call them fiddleheads, here, and we eat the ones from small ferns. Your tree fern, however, is safe.

What an interesting photo! I used to have a rabbit's foot fern, which actually is furry and is kind of creepy, but the leaves are pretty.
Zoomie, I don't think you can eat these, they are tree fern fiddleheads. Hmm, some Googling is in order.
