I forgot ...

... last weekend I decanted the vodka I'd been flavouring with part of our native lime harvest. Out of the jar and back into the bottle went the booze. A rather delightful pale green booze. Not the pretty pink I was expecting (the limes were reddish going in) but still, not bad looking, and it tastes mighty fine too. Still, I'm left with a couple of handfuls of tiny, pickled limes. What on earth was I going to do with them? A quick taste test answered that question, eat them! Piquant is the best descriptor! Piquant and limey!I think the insides look a little like that green stuff they put on some fancy sushi, urchin eggs or somesuch.

Teensy limes! Seems like a great beginning to a vodka tonic with a twist of those little limes in the glass that Mr. Brown has brought you at the end of a long, hot day. Sitting in the shade in the garden, watching your new kitten explore the outdoors while Ping looks on blinking benignly. How's that for a dreamy picture?

Um, so when can we come over for a drink? That's such a great idea!! And I love the little limes, I can almost taste them!

S, yes, I think that would work.
Zoomie, Lee, sounds ideal, but Ms Ping does not benignly blink, me thinks!
Sue, it's rather a long way for a drink but there's still some left ...

Now that Ping is to be the big sister, she may become more benign.

It's a good O. I've never seen such cute limes. With such, um, visceral viscera.

Zoomie, we do hope so, the little one will be so very wee.
Cookie, yes indeed, it's rather, emm, intestinal isn't it!
