Let's not talk about where I've been or what I've been doing ...

... it's depressing and dull and makes me sound all whingey and crappity.
Let us instead, speak of Mr Brown's latest sartorial adventure. Swimming trunks. He needed some and I was going to make that happen.
So, David Jones, after work, having tempted him inside with promises of "just dashing through, it's a short cut" to dinner.
(I'm most cunning and clever you see.)
"O," I said, "lookie, swimming shorts, you need some, don't you, for Queensland?"
I showed him these. He saw the label above them (Paul Smith, tres, tres expensive, stupidly so. But still, if I were a boy I'd totally wear them) and said no, no, no.
Then I showed him these (lobsters. with CLAWS). He said yes, then looked at the price tag (Ted Baker, London, you can imagine I'm sure), and said no, no, no.
Sigh, my selections rejected I started to grab shorts wildly, waving them in his face.
"These?"
"No."
"These?"
"No."
"These?" Faded red ones, like his Newport pants. Pink, in other words.
A quick check of the, sensible, price tag (from here, a nice Australian company that makes comfortable underpants for boys, among other things).
"Yes."
The man has pants to swim in, the world is a safer place.

It's probably good (just probably) that your blog and Twitter friends aren't allowed to vote on such things.
I would have voted for "Buy one of each" and "Yes, Mr. Brown should model them"!
;o)

Lee, Mr Brown, unlike me, is very sensible with the $$$. Just as well one of us is I guess.

Didn't you buy him some Paul Smith last year ? They were *leetle* trunks from memory, very nice, but I think I commented that Mr B must have a ripper of a body to wear them :D

Love me some Paul Smith, but yes, le price tag.

xx

I liked the lobster ones, predictably. The stripes look like pajama cutoffs.

Ho boy! Your prezzie was mailed today (overnight delivery, I believe) and he will have the perfect pink T-shirt to wear with the pants. (Wait till you see the value I assigned to the shirt on the customs form.)

Zoomie, I LOVED the lobster ones too, but $120, he refused to be tempted.
Cookie, I'm TRES excited - one trusts you did not tell big fat porkies, that could get you into trouble.
E - yes, indeed.

Oh I am pleased. We have installed a Bali Hut and a bar fridge too so he should be very comfortable by the pool x

S, well it was especially for your pool that the swimming pants were purchased, can't have him swanning about in budgie smugglers, think of the children!
