On my doorstep, this morning ...

... I am overjoyed.
I've blogged this book before, I'd found it on the interwebs, but no "live" actual copies were available.
But then, by some happenstance, it suddenly was, and here it is, in my hot little hands.
First published in 1965 by the genius Edward Gorey.
How I do wish he was still around, crafting his quirky, joyful, dark and slightly naughty illustrative gems. Sigh.

Do love Mr. Gorey - have you seen his Christmas book, "The Twelve Terrors of Christmas?" Marvelous fun and pointedly fun.

Yes, but on the bright (dark?) side, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter are lovers. Whoo.

I'm having Edward Gorey ballet slippers tattooed on my feet.

Zoomie, I have The Twelve Terrors of Christmas, and many more.
Cookie *Boggles* I think I may have talked Mr Brown into not leaving me if I have a very small tattoo on my wrist!
