... Mr Brown did cruel things to his too!
So, we braved the subway for the first time, and can I say, it SHITS all over Sydney public transport. Clean for a start, and you can hear most of the announcements, and it seem cheap, the unlimited ride MetroCard doodad at least. Take note State Rail, you bastards.
Uptown we went, first to the Frick Collection. We played where-would-you-like-to-live-on-70th Street on the way up, but ultimately decided it was the Frick Mansion that would suit us best. The West Gallery is bigger than the Brown-Mouse Long Thin House. And the Garden Court, with the little pond, beautiful. AND there's a garden, and Central Park is just across the road, for my squirrel fixes.Next, a quick dash through the Park to the American Museum of Natural History. Overwhelmed by dinosaurs and stuffed beasts, we had to have a wee rest and a snack. My goodness but these Americans STUFF their sandwiches, protein overload. Way too much to type about, I took 16million photos though.
Back across the park, it was about here I think I developed an interesting new blister, to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Art overload I'm afraid, at one point Mr Brown pulled a face and point-blank refused to look at another Greek vase. It was about here his feet died too. There was just too much to see and simply not enough time to see it. So I'm going back next week to see other bits while grass is growing in New Jersey (sailing, fun to do I'm told but not exactly exciting to watch!). They kicked us out at 5pm, but on the way out I bought myself a red and gold dragon! He's got the most amazing googly eyeballs. 21 million photographs were taken and Mr Brown discovered Renoir's Boating Party lives in Washington.
We overestimated our stamina and time frames, so we only got to see the outside of the Guggenheim. We're going back tomorrow to see that one, and the Morgan Library, and to look at the Empire State Building from the Rockefeller building.
Off to soak the pieds.

The Met is great, really great. But you can have too much art in one day.
Things must have really improved since the last time I was on a New York subway!
So sorry about the doubling of footsoreness from two to four.
But congratulations on managing to see so many sights on this trip. Wherever we visit, we know there will always be too much to see. So about halfway through we start planning our next visit!
Have fun!
;o)

Morgan's going to the Morgan.
I love your itinerary. I'm a Yank, and I'd still visit the same stuff you're seeing in NY.
Poor foots.
Last time I rode that subway system, someone had barfed in the middle of the car and I was so stupid, I didn't think to change cars. I do not heart New York (except for the museums, Gramercy Park, Central Park and Greenwich Village).
Stomper, it's certainly too much for one day, and there's the Cloisters to consider, O my!
Lee, the subway is (relatively) clean, graffiti free, uncrowded (even in rush hour), timely and AIR CONDITIONED!!!. Honestly, it's fantastic, even the "delays" are good in comparison. State Rail (the NSW system) hasn't really been upgraded for a good 20 years, it's dying.
Cookie, Morgan's been to the Morgan, and was MOST put out they don't do T-Shirts, most put out.
Zoomie, you have no idea how glad I am there's been no vomiting on this trip so far.
Oh, I can imagine!
