So the dust storm dissipated ...

... first it was gold. Then a pale sort of smog. Then the blue sky returned. But the garden wears the evidence. Dust on leaves and bebe flowers. Dust on pots and in possum bowls. Let's just not mention indoors eh? Too depressing. I shudder to think what it would be like if I'd left windows and doors open.

Nice pics! I was worried you might be flying home in the ghastliness of it all, phew! We do not have blue sky yet and as the sun went down, we were still encased in white-yellow dust.

Oh. My bloggo details what happened when the wily wind blew my windows open. It was not pretty. I'm still finding critters under cushions ... oooooohhhh ...

Welcome home!! xxxxxx

I like the comparison pics. How often do you get these in Sidney?

CAW, I'll go look soon. My sister sent me photies of Qld dust, yuc.
E - Bureau of Meteorology records show Sydney was also affected by dust storms in April 1994, September 1968, December 1957, and January 1942, when the most severe dust storm to hit the city reduced visibility at Sydney airport to 500 metres, so not often.

I heard about this today on NPR news - they are a little late with this story!

Zoomie, it's so rare for Australia to make the US news!
