Good news is ...

... I met the new niece today. I was expecting some sort of elephant bebe, given she weighed over 10 pounds at birth and her mother kept telling me how huge she was.
Turns out she was quite pink and dainty with a remarkably wibbly head and teeny tiny ears. She was very well behaved, only dribbling on me once, and only the littlest bit. There's a niece with her eyes on the prize, we are a childless auntie and uncle after all!
She hurled that odd curdled milk stuff all over her big sister though. I had to resort to the emergency perfume in my handbag to sooth the poor girl. Nobody likes smelling like puke.
"She loves her little sister but she does so hate the smell of vomit" quoth the mother of them both.

So glad your worst imaginings were not realized!
All the best to the newest little one and the whole family!

You're right, no-one likes smelling of vomit.

Hugeness in a newborn is all relative.

E - I'll see what I can do pic-wise
Lee - Glad to provide a giggle :)
Stomper - vomit is vile, just vile. Had bebe puked on me I'd have joined in!

Once on an airplane, a baby whoopsed in the aisle right next to my seat - but the clever flight attendant quickly opened a fresh packet of ground coffee and sprinkled it over the mess - the smell of freshly ground coffee completely masked the unmentionable odor and the flight continued in comfort. The moral of the story is "travel prepared with coffee." :-)

Zoomie, am now wondering if I will be allowed to bring a packet of coffee onto the plane!
