This is our bridge, it's the Glebe Island Bridge, though politicians renamed it Anzac Bridge. Many, many of we "locals" refuse to call it that. This can confuse some newbie taxi drivers. And beneath it, to the right is the other, more famous bridge and, if you look closely, a little further to the right, you can also see the old Glebe Island Bridge. It's a swing bridge.
There's another bridge in the area, the Pyrmont Bridge, another swing bridge. It's part of my longer walk home when the weather isn't too hot or too cold. The sea breeze gusts across it most refreshingly.
We live quite close to another of Sydney's bridges, the Iron Cove Bridge, and regularly pootle across it on the way somewhere or other. It's got a funny little side road bit you need to remember if you want to go out to the outlet place, where there's a cafe where a collegue's Turkish mum makes the most amazing rice pudding stuff.
These are just some of Sydney's bridges.

Nice. I think next time you pootle across a bridge, you should take more pics.
We, well Boston, Massachusetts, has a similar bridge of recent construction - also known by more than one name!

P.S. So glad you and Rupert are having so much fun together!
I've FINALLY found your blog! We used to live VERY close to this bridge (hint between this and the iron cove bridge over to the right a bit) and my boys and I can't drive over it without saying "Hullo Digger!" every time.
The ritual began long before they put the NZ digger there, so we haven't yet learned to remember to acknowledge him.
It's my favourite bridge. I can see it from right where I'm sitting now. Aren't I lucky?
Fe - freaking out slightly, do I know you?
Fe - H&B tells me you aren't who I feared you may be (lunatic cousin-in-law also called Fe). So, HI, yes you are indeed lucky to see the bridge from where you are sitting, I can see beige walls from where I'm sitting right now. Not nice at all.
