Mr Brown’s mum died at 2am this morning. We were still an hour’s drive away. Mr Brown is, understandably, crushed. Exhausted, drained, sad, is all I can come up with right now. Will have to break out the emergency soup.

Chuck and I are both so very sorry for your loss.
Having come through the passing of parents, we can begin to imagine the impossibly acute period of grief Mr. Brown is in right now.
Please accept our deepest sympathies.

So sad to miss saying goodbye in person - I missed my mother, too, so I know a bit about how he's feeling now. We send sympathy from halfway around the world when our hearts are right next door.
