I keep my collection ...

... in a test tube with a lid. I find them in the most suprising and the most mundane of spots. Mr Brown always lets me know if he spots one.
And I was glad to discover that I'm not the only collector.

Yes, it's true, I'm a collector of Cat Whiskers, I've been doing it for years, but I've not managed to accumulate as many as this.
And only my cats' whiskers. I'd not want any old cat's whiskers. I think of them as little gifts, to be carefully tucked away, although I've been known to use them to tickle the nose of a sleeping cat from time to time!

well fancy that, I had no idea you did such a thing. Lily and i make a wish on the ones we find...a bit like eyelashes.

Mr Brown & I only wish on eyelashes. I hoard the whiskers, I've no idea why I started, but Isuspect it was because I found a Harry whisker when he was a bebe, and it was too cute to throw away ...

And it is fun, fun, fun to tickle their noses with whiskers.

I never, ever thought about this. And you are legion!
Me, I used to collect insect wings. Certainly not MY insects, but they'd found their way into the house and shed beautiful wings for me, nonetheless.

My first husband's mother had a whisker collection from her cat, too, all taped to a jug in her TV room.

Cookie, insect wings are beautiful things but so very fragile, did your collection survive?
Zoomie - my first husband finds whiskers for me to add to my collection ;)

Yes, I saved them flat between sheets of paper. I could probably still find that bundle.

Cookie, in wax paper, carefully ironed?
I found a collection of mouse skulls tucked away in a drawer some time ago. I threw them away. Wish I hadn't now.
Regrets, I have a few, like not buying that en-silvered monkey skull - the absolute LAST time I let my mum talk me out of a purchase.

Well, I just found this... I am not quite sure why you have my photo linked with the "I'd not want any old cat's whiskers"....!!!! My whiskers are all from my kitties! Carefully and lovingly collected and saved! Now the link right before mine is asking for people to send whiskers...that is not what I'm about either! :^)

That said, I think it's mighty special that you collect whiskers too!

Unaodd-lynn - I was just linking wildly to anyone who also colleccte whiskers - If the link offends, please say so and I'll remove it asap!

No need to remove. I'm not offended. I just thought maybe you imagined I take in any old whiskers. :^)

Only my own cat whiskers will do... and you inspired me to count my little bottle. 377 whiskers, from 5 cats spanning 20 years!
