I always knew cats had pockets ...

... Henry's Pockets apparently, the little pocket of skin on the side of a cat's ear flap.
Here's Ping's Henry's Pocket. Not acutally big enough to keep much in as it turns out, but a pocket none-the-less.I think it may have been Lee who said a day's not wasted if you learn something. Today has not been wasted.

I did say it - but I had no idea those little parts had a name!
Very cool!

Lee, of course now I wonder who Henry was.

Well, I learned something, too, so thanks Lee and thanks Mouse!
I like to stick my fingertip inside that velvety little pocket. Cats don't mind.

Oh boy. I can already see my girls giving me funny looks. When I start fiddling with their pockets, that is.

Cookie, 'Some' cats don't mind. Miss Pingu has no problems with it, but I have the scars to prove a certain black cat I know did not appove of ear fondling at all!
E, start slow ... and be ready to run.

Dogs have 'em too. I always just thought they were fun to fiddle with, and the dogs didn't seem to mind either!

Good point:
Who is Henry?
And why did he get to name the pockets?

BUT, UK, are they Henry's pocket in dogs, or are they George's or Frank's???
