... the last time I bought a Walkman was in the 1980s. It was pink and played cassette tapes. It was very, very simple to use. But it used batteries like they were going out of style and transferring vinyl disc to tape was most time consuming.
Today, at lunchtime, I went into a very intimidating, high-tech, electronic gewgaw shop and bought one of these.
After a bit of a shout-at-Mr-Brown, arm-wavy hitch right at the start, all is going swimmingly.
I look forward to up/downloading/transferring/copy&pasting my entire musical youth onto a tiny wee 4cm x 9cm machine over the next little while.

I can just see you bopping down the street with your earbuds in.
Yes, like John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever"!
Enjoy!

Nice gear - I like my tiny Creative Zen and I have a Touch too (I know Lee, it's an Apple-from-the-Devil product, but I won it)and apparently now my new 'phone can load oodles of music too, but somehow I seem to listen to the radio more and more... bizarre
Oh. It's a non-iPod. Cool.
I remember when the Walkman came out. So hip. Had to have one. Weren't we stupid? (Cue Tears for Fears.)
Zoomie, I'm not so boppily cool as those iPod folk!
Lee - hmmm, he strutted more than bopped.
Roo - I got into trouble when I brought it home, Mr Brown's first words, "you can do all that on your bloody phone!!" Bastard, he just doesn't get it, the joy of a beautiful thing.
Cookie, it is indeed a non-iPod. I felt so terribly cool with my pink tape-deck walkman, and it was my saviour on many a long bus trip, but this is uber cool to the max man!
I have no Tears for Fears but I'm swimming in Ultravox!
