... O noes, if the young mouse could see me now, she'd slap me silly. I'm IRONING FFS.
... Still, they are my shirts, not the shirts of some vile, oppressive, patriarchal overlord*.
... And they are VERY pretty shirts ... she'd have loved this mauve liberty print.
... Gah, she'd have MADE it herself**, not bought it, made by some poor slave child in an airless, dark and dank Chinese basement, with rats nibbling at her toes.
... But only because she didn't have any money ... whenever she had the chance she bought shop clothes. I don't have to make stuff anymore.
... Yea, but only because you're working for the man! She'd HATE my job.
... She wouldn't mind the money though, snooty little bitch.
... At least I've still got taste in music, it's Dexy's not Madonna!
... FUCK that steam's HOT.
... I wonder when Mr Brown's getting home.***
* Young mouse was a bit of a rad-not-terribly-fond-of-the-male-of-the-species-fem, way back in the day.
** Young mouse was quite the nimble seamstress, I'll show you my quilt one day.
*** Young mouse did end up liking Mr Brown though, which is why old mouse can wonder this while sucking her freshly steamed finger.

Ah come on, Eileen.
Ironing is contemplative - but mostly might thoughts when doing it are not printable. My least favorite chore.
Ironing sucks pond water!
I prefer to snap and hang. Then I will even mist with water and tug a bit and let it air dry - all this to avoid the dreaded iron!
I don't actually mind the ironing so much, but that's because I don't usually do any. But these were delicates you see, not to be trusted to Mr Brown - who is the general, household iron-man.
Zoomie, it's easy, if he wants an ironed shirt, he irons it! J never took the task on, so it was never mind.
Me, I just slip a blouse under the radar with a "would you mind running your iron over this, while you have it out?" WHat can he say if he want's dinner? :) His mother trained him well methinks.
That would be
I never took the task on, so it was never mine.
also wants, sans ' - GAH!
Yes, and "might" thoughts apparently are mighty rather than mine...? *sigh*
Cookie - good name for a song
Zoomie - I'm with you - my thoughts usually stray to "I wonder if I can get a little old lady in to do these"
I have to iron P's shirts too, it's just too painful to watch him struggle.
Roo - the trick is not to watch, they eventually get it, and then do yours!
Morgan - no seriously it would be too painful to watch ;o)
