Sunday Soup ...

... a sort of bastardised Chowder sort of thing. It's got corn and bacon and potatoes and chicken and herbs and stuff in it. Thick, hearty and flavourful and nothing like the real thing at all, I'm sure.
It did get me thinking though, as I watched Mr Brown pick over the chook carcase (something I only do if there's no alternative), giving directions like, "erk no, not that bit, give that to the cat" or "nothing slimy" and "gak, no veins, please or I shall faint", I'm very glad I wasn't born in the stone age. I'd have starved.
In fact, I did ask, "would a stone-age husband be quite so obliging, do you think?".
Mr Brown just looked me in the eye, and then rolled them ceilingwards in an insultingly patronising manner. Bastard.

we are having bacon and broccoli soup with cibbata to dip in - Lily says it looks disgusting but it smells divine.
