Disaster ...

... that eye thing came back this morning. No suitable drugs in the house.
So this afternoon, on the way home I stopped at the chemist and bought the big, monster box, to be safe.
I hacked a great chunk out of my finger, trying to open a plastic bag with a knife, this evening. No band aids in the house, Mr Brown sticky-taped a kitchen towel to my finger! It was huge and made typing very difficult indeed Later, I found 1 lonely band aid, in the shoe cupboard.
Tomorrow I'm off to the chemist, again. I'll be buying 16 different kinds of band aid!
And now I'm tired, off to bed with a cold eyepack pressed to my peepers.
I have no idea why I felt the need to share this, no idea at all.

One should always share about health issues, for two reasons: lots of warm fuzzies from your friends; and you never know who can give you a good tip about what you're dealing with.

I have no tip this time, therefore

S - not at all, the very latest band-aid technology is tres, tres expensive. I got clear waterpoof ones, fancy skin-like advanced healing ones, traditional cloth ones (several shapes and sizes) and some plastic dots. OOO, and spray-on stuff.
Mr Brown's eyes did boggle but it's important to be prepared. He should know, he's the one that used to be a boy scout!

ok now I have the explanation. Do you feel any better?

Ms Brown Mouse said...

Ilva, oh yes, much better thank you - and I may end up with a cool new scar!

I wish I had bought stock in the bandaid companies before this incident...

Thank you, S, how sweet of you to say!

And Ms. Mouse, you are too funny. The $40 in bandaids made me laugh the laughter of recognition. tee hee.

E - for a little sister, S isn't all bad ;). And it IS good to be prepared, I'm glad you agree. I'm just disappointed I couldn't find any bacon bandaids.

Oh dear!!!
So glad you are feeling much better!

We have a plastic storage tub (like a shoebox, only bigger) filled with all sorts, shapes and sizes of band aids, gauze pads, butterfly closures and tape. There is a separate smaller box for ointments and medicaments.

Chuck has managed to injure himself in more ways than I care (or he would want me) to recount! And he's really a strong, graceful fellow. He once dropped a stereo speaker on his head, causing quite a gash. I played Florence Nightingale and he moved in. The rest is history!

Now when something dreadful transpires, I grab the box and head to the rescue. We like being as self sufficient as possible.

Lee, that's so romantic. I wish we had a lovely story like that one.
