... we are about to drive about 45 minutes to buy a special kind of cat food*. I'm finding this a little difficult to believe myself.
*Of course, since we are going all that way we'll go a bit further, visit my mum and dad, pick up our new sheer curtains (thanks mum) and have a first frock fitting. But still, the cat food was the spark!

Around here 30 minutes to anywhere is the norm, so 45 seems reasonable - even for cat food - especially with all those other tasks tacked on!
Enjoy!

P.S. First frock fitting???
Lee - we're inner city softies.
My mum is making me a nice summer frock (wite with pretty blue pattern), suitable for wearing to work. It's a new recipe, so she wanted to make sure all was well before she sewed it all together properly.
O, it was 45 min there and another 45 back, in case that wasn't clear.
tragic i would say but the frock saves it all! blame it on your inner Sartorialist!
Consider my inner Sartorialist soundly thrashed!
Oooh, aren't you a lucky girl and don't you have a clever Mum! I hope there will be pictures someday - the fabric, the dress on a hanger, something like that.
As for "inner city softies" LOL, we call it the "need to pack a lunch" mentality: any drive greater than one town away requires one to pack a lunch for the journey!
Chuck used to commute one hour and 45 minutes each way to work for more years than we care to recall. Most everyone thought us insane!
BTW, did you find the cat food and are the felines appreciative?
;o)

Lee, we used to pack a lunch just to drive over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to visit my sister. But that's because the North Shore is a very strange place indeed ;)
As for the frock, possibly!
O, and the shop was closed when we drove past on the way back home. I KNEW we should have stopped on the way in.
