I'm honest enought to admit ...

... that if I'd ever smoked (and I don't, fucking disgusting habit), I'd probably smoke these (except for the fact they're from the 70s).Smack me and call me shallow.

Hi DMM -
I quit smoking 23 years ago (Yay me!).
But I'm so old that I DID smoke Eve cigarettes and it was for exactly that reason!
However, I smoked them briefly, because their main claim to fame was the packaging/marketing - not taste.
Along the same gender marketing lines, I also smoked Virginia Slims.
And in the oddball category, I smoked Cameos from Canada.
What's amazing is that nearly a quarter century later, I can still taste and smell the different brands.

No way. That would be like smoking a panty liner.

Lee - Yay you indeed - your lungs, throat and tongue are grateful I'm sure.
Cookie - ciggie, liner, same same to me!

I smoked for years, but Marlboros - what does that say about me? Tomboy? Luckily, my first husband guilted me out of smoking, something I owe him for!

Cosy - Yep it’s an acquired taste alright, one I could never bother acquiring – rather like beer.
Zoomie – see, there’s a use for everyone, even ex-husbands.

Speaking of the usefulness of ex-husbands:
his job caused us to relocate, which caused me to look for a new job. That new job of mine led me to my REAL husband!

Sometimes in our yoof of images, not of substance ( or of heeding health warnings ), we'd go to a Tobacconist and buy a pkt of "Cocktail Cigarettes". Same thing - as in being very pretty, slim and in an array of pastel colours with gold trims.

We covetted the cigarette holder.

I still like the 'look', but not the smoke/taste/smell.

I remember cutting out and keeping 'cool' Escort and Sterling ads from magazines... ahh..

H&B - I've seen those ciggies in a window, very special aren't they?
I, too, rather like the 'look' (all those old movies, soooo stylish), but not the smoke, taste, smell and threat of lung/throat/tongue cancer turn me away everytime.
