... or for most of it anyway, what with Mr Brown jetting off to Melbourne for the day. So I went to see the Monet exhibition with a couple of girlfriends and we decided dumplings for dinner was the way to go. Much discussion ended up with us heading in the general direction of Chinatown because we couldn't decide on a specific venue.
But we wandered past Din Tai Fung - which has mile-long queues at lunchtime and early evening so we've never bothered (I HATE queuing). But the time, the rain and the fact it was Wednesday all played out in our favour and bingo - we were in.
We were little piggies, 2 kinds of xiao long bao (a dumpling with SOUP in it - requiring special printed instructions on how to eat them), hot short sour soup and water spinach with garlic (humming with it, yum). I'm definitely taking Mr Brown there - full as googs we were.
A short walk in the rain to get home and another attempt at applying eyeliner (at least I didn't dye my eyeballs blue this time*), I'm ready for bed.
* A story for another time I think.

I have nearly drowned on soup dumplings. Didn't get the instructions.
I've never heard of soup dumplings.
They sound dangerous and exciting!
How funny that tonight (Wednesday night here) we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant. It felt as if we were well and truly home at last.
Years ago, we went to a Monet exhibition in Boston. It was wonderful.

Cookie, I burnt my tongue on the first one, being a bit greedy I suspect.
Lee, A great many of the paintings at the exhibition were from Boston, and the big man from Boston spoke at the talk series I went to before the exhibition opened.
I'm glad you feel "back home".
