... Probably. But I still like the idea of Amazon.com's annual Banned Books Week. Check out the Forbidden Library for more (& why & where). The Brown-Mouse house is in favour of anything that encourages reading and discourages censorship. And it made me feel a little bit of a rebel, realising I've already read 12 of the 16 in the emailed list. Does anyone recommend The Martian Chronicles?
Edited to add - make that 13 of the 16.

Cynical? I say brilliant. Love it. I'm posting it too. Thanks for the heads up.
E - if it takes a cynical marketing ploy to get people to think about censorship and to read good books, then I'm all for it too!
Let's just bow our heads, and pray for the good ol' US of A...
"Palin asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor.

It's frightening isn't it? I can't get over the book banners/burners - don't read if you don't want, stop your children if you must but don't stop me or mine. I'm so glad the Australian school (and library)system works in a different way.
