... when I was a little girl my dad used to tell me, "if you don't eat, you don't shit and if you don't shit, you die". (No, really, he used to say that to his tiny wee girl child.)
Since that time I have learned that it is also very, very important to drink plenty of water.*

very wise, all
I honestly don't think I ever heard my Dad say the word sh*t in his entire life. Actually, I don't remember him swearing at all.
He did say: "All I want is ladies!" to his three daughters. But I fear he was repeatedly disappointed!
He did advise me to never try to break up a knife fight. That's somewhat unusual advice, but equally wise.
;o)

Lee, I suspect your pa was a bit of a gent. Mine? well, not so much. He has always been kind to cats and spiders, so he's not all bad.
That knife fight advice your dad gave you was indeed, most wise.
My Dad used to say that too.
Nice, huh.
Yers, charming really!
Ahem. Guilty.
*eep!*
The other was "Do as I say, and not as I do!" which struck me as terribly hypocritical b/c my dad used to have so much fun but I was never allowed to do the same things.
Okay. Swinging from chandeliers was perhaps a bit danger-mouse for me at aged 12.
CAW - guilty? of forgetting to eat, drink or poo?
