Waiting ...

... Back in the first week of May I ordered a new sofa bed - the one on the right, only the colour of the one on the left.Anyhoo, I've just been told when to expect delivery - SEPTEMBER!

It took 2 months for me to get my dresser, I don't know why it takes so long.

Hi -
I love the choice you made!

When we ordered our bed along with two dressers, they said about six weeks or so for delivery. We then added on a chair for which we chose different upholstery fabric. That was supposed to be eight weeks. But if we wanted to get it all delivered for one delivery charge, it all had to come together. OK.

Meanwhile, we found one of the dressers on sale in a local shop. We cancelled the original and drove off to buy the new less expensive one. They had it in stock so we slid it into the way back of our Subaru wagon. That meant we had one new dresser living with all the old stuff. Then came the call you got today: Instead of eight weeks we were looking at nearly four months! Arrrgggghhh!

So we spent our time by driving off to IKEA and buying and then assembling a PAX unit and two nightstands! All's well now. We love all the bits and pieces - even though they arrived in dribs and drabs!
Hang in there - it certainly looks well worth the long and annoying wait!

Beautiful couch - it will be worth the wait. I too have to wait a month into living in my new home for my couch - I feel your pain.

we cancelled our wall unit order after discovering we had a 9 month wait - our kids didn't take that long to arrive and they're much more use.

I spent two years buying furniture, and on one project I looked at over 800 suppliers in the UK and Europe, and from that I got got only 10 that could deliver a product to the customer in under 14 days - 10 from 800, and we wonder why imports and Ikea are making so much money - it's madness.

So, I'm getting the message this is not an unusual experience then. Bummer all round. Still, it will be nice when it finally gets here.
