HELP ...

... I want some old-fashioned bath linen - not the terry cloth stuff, not the waffle-weave stuff but those towels that are a bit like huge linen dish towels. You know the kind, you were surprised by them the first time you stayed in an Italian hotel. I have NO idea what they are called (and have googled everything I can think of) and can't find anything anywhere. Any hints?

Well, I found this link, but it's in Italian. There may be more but I didn't have time to continue. http://www.ricamitiziana.it/ricami-a-mano.html
Problem is that they're really expensive. But if it helps, linen towels in Italian is "asciugamani di lino" maybe you can do a search that way?

I KNEW you'd know Ms E, ta. I don't care if they are expensive (well, I'd better check just HOW expensive first) I just want, want, want.

oooo, good findage Ms e and Ms Mouse. I know how you feel about the bathroom yummies Ms Mouse. I feel the same way about European pillow cases. I lavash those things so much and I especially like the little tuck-in bits and how hugesome they are and everything. And crisp. Och. They are so crisp. Not that I iron them, of course. Hell, I don't even own an ironing board - but when they are freshly washed, they are all crisp and noice.

Don't tell anyone but I've been known to iron pillowcases - the smooth blissfulness of it is worth it.
