... the cheeky bastard!
Edited to add - Thanks to the Urban Koda's misspent youth I think the cheeky bastard tomato thief bird is actually a female or juvenile Common Koel (a sort of cuckoo).

Oooo!
It's beautiful! What is it?
Please don't say a cheeky bastard tomato thief of a bird!

Well - we've no idea so we are calling it a eekychay astardbay omatotay iefthay irdbay (oink).
The coloration on that looks like it may be a cuckoo, but then the heavy beak and long tail make it look more like a coucal, which is part of the cuckoo family, just much bigger, and they tend to eat baby birds rather than fruit.
This level of knowledge may well explain the curious absense of many friends when I was a kid...
You're in Australia, right? So it's a kookaburra. That's what this kid from California thinks.
:D
I'm going with cheeky bastard tomato thief of a bird.
Well done UK - it was a cuckoo indeed - so I was not far off with the cheeky bugger bit anyhoo!
Well, glad to know my missing out on a social life has at least 1 good result!
Cookie, nope not a kookaburra - I know what they look like and I know they eat meat, not tomatoes. They've been known to steal from BBQ's - so they are cheeky buggers!
